Dies for Embossing

The tooling behind the finished embossed impression
These examples are a selection of embossing dies produced by Furnells for previous client work.
Unlike a finished plaque or engraved presentation piece, an embossing die is a working tool. Its purpose is to reproduce artwork, lettering or a design as a raised or recessed impression in the finished material.
That makes the die itself an important part of the manufacturing process. The quality and definition of the tooling directly affect the appearance and repeatability of the resulting embossed work.
The selection illustrates another side of Furnells' workshop capability: producing specialist tooling and manufacturing work as well as the finished engraved products more commonly associated with the company.
Custom embossing and die manufacture
Furnells produces bespoke dies for embossing applications and can work from appropriate customer artwork or specifications. Requirements vary according to the material, design, size and intended use, so custom work is assessed around the individual job.
For businesses requiring repeatable branded, decorative or identification work, purpose-made tooling can provide a consistent way of reproducing a design across multiple pieces.
