A tactile finish

Embossing that becomes part of the object.

Unlike a printed surface treatment, embossing creates physical depth. The mark is pressed into or raised from the material, giving branding and lettering a tactile, permanent character.

Furnells' existing work covers folders, Moleskine notebooks, leather bags, luggage tags, photo albums, wallets, USB products and other presentation items. That breadth makes embossing useful for both private commissions and commercial branding.

Each job is assessed around the material, artwork, size and required finish. Where bespoke tooling is needed, Furnells can also produce custom embossing dies for repeatable work.

Where embossing works well

Branding, presentation & personalisation.

Corporate branding

Company names, logos and identity details applied to presentation products, folders and branded items.

Notebooks & folders

A particularly strong application for leather or leather-look covers where subtle depth gives the finished piece a premium feel.

Leather accessories

Wallets, luggage tags, bags and other suitable finished goods can be personalised or branded where the material allows.

Presentation work

One-off and short-run pieces for gifts, events, commemorative use and special presentations.

From artwork to impression

Beyond the finished item

Furnells also makes the dies.

Embossing depends on the tooling behind the impression. Furnells produces bespoke embossing dies for previous and current client work, giving the workshop another layer of in-house manufacturing capability.
