Laser engraving where there is very little room for error
This gold watch was brought to Furnells by a private customer for bespoke laser engraving.
Unlike engraving a flat plaque or nameplate, a finished personal item presents a different kind of job: the engraving has to work within the limited available area while respecting the appearance of an object that is already complete.
Laser engraving is particularly well suited to fine, controlled marking on compact items, making it possible to add personalisation without turning the object into something that looks mass-produced.
The project is a useful example of the smaller one-off commissions handled alongside Furnells' commercial, architectural and industrial engraving work.
