This solid oak commemorative plaque was produced for an opening ceremony involving HRH The Prince of Wales.
At 600 × 400 mm and 25 mm thick, it is a substantial piece of timber rather than a lightweight decorative plaque. The scale and natural character of solid oak give the finished work the presence expected of a formal ceremonial installation.
The plaque was engraved to create a permanent record of the occasion, bringing together traditional material and precision lettering in a one-off commemorative piece.
